Editorial Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2025
At ADHD Goat, our mission is to create content that is honest, useful, and reflects the real experiences of the neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, and mental health communities. We take our responsibility seriously to deliver information that people can trust, relate to, and actually use.
Here’s how we approach everything we publish:
1️⃣ Our Voice
ADHD Goat is written by people who live it. Our writers and contributors are members of the communities we write about. We don’t approach these topics from a clinical distance — we bring personal experience, empathy, and lived understanding.
That said:
We balance personal stories with well-researched information from credible public sources to give readers both practical tools and emotional resonance.
2️⃣ Our Research Process
Every piece of content we publish draws from a mix of:
- Peer-reviewed studies
- Publicly available research (government, academic, nonprofit sources)
- Medical and psychological literature
- Expert interviews, where possible
- First-hand experiences from real people in online communities (Reddit, TikTok, Discord, etc.)
We do not publish content that is solely AI-generated or repurposed from low-quality sources. Every article is reviewed by a human editor before publication.
3️⃣ Transparency About Lived Experience
We clearly identify when content is based on lived experience or personal opinion. Neurodivergence and mental health are deeply individual — what works for one person may not work for another. We are upfront about the subjective nature of certain content.
4️⃣ Medical & Legal Disclaimer
We are not medical professionals. We never provide medical diagnosis or treatment recommendations. Any health-related information is provided for general informational purposes only and should not replace professional care.
5️⃣ Corrections & Updates
We are committed to accuracy. If new research emerges or we discover errors in our content:
- We will update or correct content as soon as possible.
- Major updates will be noted with a correction notice at the top or bottom of the page.
Readers are always welcome to contact us if they believe corrections are needed.
6️⃣ Sponsored Content & Affiliate Disclosure
Occasionally, we may include affiliate links or sponsored content to help support the site. We will always:
- Clearly label sponsored content.
- Only promote products or services we believe are genuinely helpful or relevant to our audience.
Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial decisions.
7️⃣ Community Standards
We do not tolerate content that:
- Promotes discrimination, hate, or harassment of any kind.
- Spreads misinformation, pseudoscience, or conspiracy theories.
- Exploits vulnerable communities for clicks or sensationalism.
Our goal is to create an inclusive, supportive space for everyone navigating neurodivergence and identity.
8️⃣ Contact & Feedback
